In memory of  the social, religious and political leader of Kashmiri people, Shaheed-e-Milat Mirwaiz Moulana Muhammad Farooq and martyrs of Hawal massacre, Awami Action Committee, on the fourth consecutive day of Hata-e-Shahadat (martyr’s week) organised a Blood Donation Camp in the premises of Jamia Masjid where free medicines were also distributed among the patients.

People from various districts of Kashmir, a large number of youth and women donated their blood in the camp. AAC and APHC chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who couldn’t participate in the camp as authorities had placed him under house detention early in the morning at his residence, however, praised and lauded the humanitarian spirit of people, who came in large numbers to donate their blood. Members of all the constituents of APHC including AAC leaders, workers and activists, participated in the camp and donated their blood.

A free medical camp was also organised on the occasion in which prominent doctors and paramedics participated. Doctors from Unani branch of medicine, which included entire team of doctors and paramedics from Al-Haya Hospital attended the camp.Hundreds of patients suffering from different ailments were treated on the occasion and also provided  with free medicine to the patients.

Meanwhile AAC spokesman expressed surprise and disappointment that for the first time in  the past 27 years, doctors and paramedical staff from SKIMS soura were not allowed by the administration who had been duly requested through a letter to the Director to send a medical team ,to participate in this purely social and humanitarian initiative. Hundreds of patients waited for doctors from the institute to check on them but were let down as doctors were not allowed to attend the camp

Meanwhile, AAC spokesman said a workers rally will be organised at the AAC headquarters Mirwaiz Manzil Rajouri Kadal in which AAC delegates from across Kashmir will participate.
